​relaxed vault: autoclaved aerated concrete + kuka robotic arm



this project explores the use of autoclaved aerated concrete blocks as a building material influenced by the use of robotic work flows in order to construct formal tectonics of thin shell vaulting structures.

 

the fabrication of each unit uses a seven axis robotically controlled abrasive water jet cutter to cut ruled geometry of the vaut.
